Shopping!

These are websites I frequent or websites of companies whose products I use!

Birchbox – https://www.birchbox.com

Birchbox is a subscription based beauty, lifestyle, and grooming products service.  For $10 (sometimes less with deals on yearly subscriptions) a month, Birchbox curates a box with around five samples tailored to a profile you fill out.  The intent is to help you discover products that you’ve either never heard about or would not have tried.  I have discovered countless products through their service and has definitely changed the way I feel about my hair, makeup, etc.

Julep – http://www.julep.com

Julep is another subscription based service that focuses mainly on nail polish.  You figure out your style profile and then you are sent a welcome box, paying only the cost of shipping.  The subscription options have changed since I joined, so bear with me if I get the prices wrong.  Subscriptions are now $24.99 per month, or $19.99 per month if you pay for 3 months at a time.  The new subscription options allow you to customize each item in your box.  My subscription only allows me to change my style profile.  In addition to your monthly box, you can choose up to six add-ons of other Julep products for a reduced price.  If you choose three add-ons, you get a free gift (always a Julep product).  Recently, Julep also extended the option to skip a box (every month) to ALL Mavens!  This is great because you might not like the month’s collection or you might find it difficult to afford.

Amazon – http://www.amazon.com

There’s no way I can’t recommend Amazon!  You can quite literally order anything from Amazon.  If you are a frequent shopper, I highly recommend getting Prime.  You get access to movies, tv shows, and music.  You also get free 2-day shipping!

Origins – http://www.origins.com/index.tmpl

I have loved EVERY Origins product I have tried.  I’m a big fan of their GinZing line of products.  While I can purchase their products from Birchbox, and frequently do so, Origins also has great sales on their products.

L.L. Bean – http://www.llbean.com

I was raised in Maine and have been a fan of L.L. Bean long before they opened stores in other states.  From third or fourth grade on, nearly every backpack I’ve owned came from here.  Between lifetime warranties (I’m not sure this is still the case, but I bet their return policy is still generous) and free shipping, they’re an incredibly great value or nearly any item related to outdoor activities.  I have FOUR of the same fleece jacket in different colors I love them that much.

Rent The Runway – https://www.renttherunway.com/rtr_home

You know those awesome dresses you see on the red carpets in Hollywood?  Or the ones in magazines?  You know the ones you wish you had, but just can’t afford?  Have you ever purchased a dress for an event, only to wear it once?  Then check out Rent the Runway!  By using Rent the Runway, you can rent designer dresses for great prices.  It’s super easy.  You reserve the dress you want and pick a date one day or two before your event.  Rental periods are either 4 or 8 days.  At the end of your rental period, you send the dress back in the pre-paid labeled UPS package.  You can leave it in any UPS drop-box or store.  You can even have rentals delivered to hotels, etc.  Rent the Runway also rents design handbags and accessories to complete your look. I recommend purchasing the Pro Membership if you’re going to be renting at least two dresses a year.  For $29.95 you will get free shipping and free insurance (this pays for itself after two rentals).  You also get a $50 credit a couple weeks for your birthday.  I was able to rent a great Halston dress with my credit!
